GAIAC organized several youth exchanges "Sol & Arte" with great success, in Gaia, Lamego, Porto and Guimarães.
It also organized two Forum Theater workshops, or Theater of the Oppressed, directed by Iwan Brioc from Wales, at the ESMAE (Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo, no Porto), which resulted in public performances at venues in the city. With the same trainer and in the same place, it organized two other workshops "The Rainbow of Desire" in 2008 and 2009 and a workshop with Olivar Bendelak, "The Aesthetics of the Oppressed" in 2010.
It has relied for hosting youth exchanges to the funding of the Youth Programs, now Youth in Action and Erasmus +.
Under this program, hosted two meetings of the European network Drums For Peace, in Porto and Gaia and yet an artistic workshop, the "S ong João"
GAIAC has privileged relations with the local authorities, municipalities of Gaia, Porto, Celorico de Basto, Lamego and Guimarães, as well as with high schools with which it has collaborated (António Sérgio and Almeida Garrett high schools in Gaia and Francisco de Holanda, from Guimarães).
It has developed a project funded by the Socrates Program, Grundtvig 2, between 2006 and 2008 - "Other Ways of Learning", together with other European organizations.
The aim of this project was to investigate whether it is true and how artistic expressions foster the strengthen of the self-esteem, solidarity and integration of young adults in disadvantaged social situations.
Between 2009 and 2011, participated in the Grundtvig project, "Moments, Places and Journeys" where the aim of the project was to include physical and social disadvantaged people and the use of public spaces as a stage to perform in order to help this inclusion. Between 2010 and 2012 participated in “Next Practice” that was sort of a continuation of "Other Ways of Learning" but this time with the objective of improve the work done so far. From 2012 to 2014 it coordinated the "New Life to Old Stories", also Grundtvig project, with the aim of creating contemporary cultural and artistic narratives, based on the research of traditional stories and legends from each country involved.
Between 2011/17, GAIAC organized about 20 youth groups and group leaders to participate in youth exchanges in different European countries, including the preparation, evaluation and follow-up phases.
Nowadays, continues to develop European projects, focusing in particular on cultural and youth exchanges and European Voluntary Service.
